Actually "rwings82", you are misinformed! I have done hours of research on synthetic oils and there are top contenders and there is garbage out there! Amsoil, which is the number one oil used by most race car owners, is considered the best available however, not easily attainable at your local auto parts center! Second on the list would be Mobil1 so long as you use Mobil 1 filters and chabge the oil every 3000 miles and not the 7500 miles suggested by Mobil!All of the rest were seemingly somewhat equal with no-name brands at the bottom of the list!
Basically, as anything else we purchase, you get what you pay for! Or should I rephrase that in today's market, we SHOULD get what we pay for!
The most important issue here is good preventative maintanence which boils down to servicing your vehicle on a daily basis in my opinion! Lot's of folks just climb in, turn the key, and out on the highway---same routine each and every day! Guaranteed recipe for short term performance and expensive repair bills!
