Chevy Celebrity Electrical Short?

Question:
I have an 87 Celebrity that has an electrical short somewhere (I think). Fairly new battery won't keep a charge and I noticed a headlight was out. When I put on my high beams, the other headlight blew. Is this an easy fix, or can I expect an extensive search and repair? Thanks.

Have the alternator checked. A bad diode will drain the battery. Also, the voltage regulator could be bad, overcharging the battery and supplying high voltage to the headlights. Not the likely problem tho. The headlights may be okay. Possibly a bad ground for the headlights. Good luck.
