You never gave a year make and mdel of the car. this is always needed when you talk about car problems. If it is computerized you may have a computer that is attempting to compensate for information coming from a sensor. If you have ever seen a computer diagnostics done on a car they car make your car do all sorts of neat things with out anyone being behind the wheel. they can increase the RPM they can stop the engine, they can even create a mis-fire. The computer relies on the information coming from the sensors to optimize your fuel economy and reduce your emissions. you could also have a stickly throttle body, a mis-adjusted cold idle air control vavle. your you may even have a faulty O2 Sensor. Now if your car is carberated then I would beleve that you have a mis-adjusted Choke. Hope this helps.1990 Chevy Lumina Engine And Trans?
Idle air controll motor or a vacume leak really need more info on the carHow do i stop my new alternator on my corsa from making a whirring noise whilst driving?
Either sabotage of the line (shortened) or a stuck link of the accelerator;or, if a computer new car type, you may have inadvertently changed the programming by hitting the gas pedal while turning the key to start. Computer set ignition requires no stepping on the gas pedal to start the car.
Can't be positive but I was having this same problem and I had my timing belt replaced. You might want to have your ignition coil looked at too. My car is running great now. Good luck to ya ~
My head gasket and timing belt need replacing on my vauxhall corsa?
HiThis condition could be caused by vacuum leak,a sticking throttle cable, lever or butterfly, a sticking idle air control valve, a leaking throttle body gasket, a faulty coolant sensor, or if it is only noticeable once th engine has warmed up, a faulty O2 sensor.
Having an idle problem with a Dodge Stealth?
If your car has a secondary air pump fitted then it could be dumping air onto the O2 sensor causing it to switch low, but once again this would only be noticeable after warm up.
