Question:

I was also informed that i coud get a rebuilt transmittion cheaper and it would come with a tort conveter in the rebuilt transmission. I was wondering with out labor how much a rebuilt transmission would cost and how much a new tort converter would cost. Also where i should to perchase one. and which one is in my best interest to buy.

it is best to replace them both. one may cause the other to go bad. save yourself the time and the money and replace them both.Where can I find a 12 hp crankshaft for a briggs and stratton motor.?
if you can get a rebuilt tranny and a converter for less than just the converter than go where that place is and get it. because that is a dealwhat should I use to clean my car headlights?
I'd go with the rebuilt transmission...kinda expensive,, but it would be worth the investment if yer 95 camaro is still in good shape otherwise. If the rest of the car is going bad..then you may want to think carefully about this expense. It would be a good idea to replace it with a rebuilt transmission. If the torc converter went out something threw it out & that too will most likely go out very soon.Like the old saying says:Pay me now or pay me later.
I have a 95 bonneville it wont fire. What are all the possibilties why it wont?
its best to get both, the tranny is more expensive but it really boils down to what the transmission is doing, for example if it has a lock-up converter then that could very well be the whole problem,i have a lock-up converter on my v-6 front wheel drive olds van,,i unhooked the lock-up solenoid and haven't had any further problems,it has worked flawlessly,i just have lost the OD feature it seems, and i simply unplugged it. If u have a lock-up converter and ur fluid aint got chunks or metal shavings in it ,then a converter is for youcost of labor is the same, in either choices
What is a reasonable price to pay to replace the transmission fluid in my '97 Chevy Lumina.?

Would it be worth it to replace an engine on a 1991 Jeep Cherokee, excellent body, than to junk it?
When a torque converter goes bad it shells out millions of aluminum and steel particles from its insides. They go from there to the front pump which is not designed to pump metal particles. The metal travels all through your transmission and eventually wind up in the pan, where the filter traps them. Get a rebuilt unit and get rid of all the headaches, or trade the car off for something else.More Questions & Answers ...
