NO. It is at the end of the hose that comes out of the bottom of the radiator. Old school had them pretty much driven by the drive belt or fan belt.But on them there new fangled GM motors they are actually at the back and driven off the cam. It's crazy man Crazy

It is on the front of the engine block. Just find the belt that goes around the crankshaft, alternator, fan, etc. The belt also goes around the water pump.This is near an imposible question, other than usualy on the engine some are belt driven off of fan belts on front of engine. some under the timing cover driven by timing chain or belt. what kind of car or truck???

In general on the front of the engine run by a belt or on some newer cars the cam pulley.on the passenger side,right by the fan belt.in fact the belt runs on it.
