Question:
It has been below 0 degrees here in Omaha, and my car won't start after letting it sit for the weekend. It sputters when I turn the key like it's a split second away from starting completely. I used a DMM to check the battery and it reads 12.31 VDC. There's about half a tank of gas in there. I don't know what it could be. Frozen gas line?? Starter?
Answers:
Dump a bottle of dry gas in for starters. Cheap and can't hurt. May have fouled the plugs as well; cheap to change and a quick fix as well
Good luck
When accelering from a stop truck will not down shift.?
little more info would help.could be frozen fuel. for that you could treat your fuel with a water remover (basically alcohol) it wont help now, but for future starts, it will.

you can try an engine block heater that you plug into an outlet & insert the other end in the dipstick tube. it takes some strain off the battery, so it doesnt drain so quickly
I have a 2007 Honda CRV with a Service Engine Soon light on after 4K miles anyone know why?
Possibly a frozen gas line, there is plenty of juice from the battery to start and if it runs the starter then the starter is working. If it is a fuel injected car I would put some HEET into the tank and then put the key to the on position and let it sit until the hum from the fuel pump stops then attemp to start the car.if it is a carburated car then I suggest putting in HEET and then add a bit of gas to the carb float bowl then starting. This should help get it to start and pull the Heet into the carb. I hope this helps. My car hates the cold too.
