How do you know if you have a cracked engine?

That depends on if it is automatic or standard. If it is a manual transmission and you have all the bolts out of it. Try putting a screwdriver or prybar between the motor and tranny and hit it with a hammer. If it is an automaticmake sure oyu unbolt the flywheel from the torque converter. Then try to pry it apart.

I have a 1990 Geo Prizm GSI it keeps jumping time what are the reasons?

just try to get a big screwdriver in between the engine and trans and as you lift the engine, pry.

Torch!

Something is different with changing my spark plugs on my new car. What is it!?

First of all make sure that "everything" is unbolted, pertaining engine and transmission joining. Then after confirming all is unbolted, attempt to pry them apart...Do not use a torch...or a hammer lol....or "anything that will cause damage", a LARGE flat head screwdriver may do it if you don't have a pry-bar handy. Mechanic's common sense lol

Cold Air Intake?

If it don't come loose by jostling the transmission around just a little, you don't have all the bolts out. Check it over very carefully.
