Question:
I've gotten my O2 sensor replaced and my fuel system cleaned. I had a tune-up about 6-8 months ago. When I start my truck in the mornings (after it's sat all night) it putters a little bit and feels as if it's about to cut off. Before I got my O2 sensor replaced it was really bad. What's the problem? Will it be expensive?

What type of truck? I would say you should check your EGR valve. Is your engine light coming on at all? It could be as simple as fuel mixture if it's an older truck, timing? If you would add the type of truck and weather or not the problem is at idle or is it sputtering at a higher RPM. Are any of your spark plug wires arching/grounding out?Any idea what's wrong with my car?

It might be the EGR valve. It stands for exhuast gas recirculation and what it does is it opens up to let exhaust gas back into the intake manifold to be "recycled" and used again in the piston chambers. The EGR valve helps to reduce emmisions. A problem with old EGR valves is that often they get stuck open and let too much exhaust gas through into the intake manifold. Too much exhaust gas doesn't provide enough fuel for combustion and would cause your engine to stall. If that is the problem, replace the EGR valve. I recently bought an EGR valve for my truck, it cost me about 70 bucks. Its pretty unlikely that its the EGR valve because like I said, a stuck open EGR valve will make your engine stall, but usually the engine would stall all the time and not just in the mornings, like in your case.95 Mercury tracer white sparkplugs?
It might be the thermac system which also circulates hot air back into the intake. The reason they thermac system is there is because when the engine is really cold it needs warm air to fire up. If the air going into the intake is too cold then it will have a problem starting up. That is why the thermac system lets hot air into the intake to help start the engine up. Once the engine is hot enough the thermac system disengages. It lets hot exhaust air go into the intake by a thermac valve. It works just like the EGR valve (vacuum operated). When the engine is hot enough the thermac valve shuts off and doesn't let any hot exhaust back into the engine. There are to basic parts to the thermac system, one is the tube connected between the exhaust manifold and the air intake. Check this tube to see if it is connected properly or if it is damaged, if so replace it. The other part of the thermac system is the thermac valve, make sure it works properly, if not replace it. Remember both the EGR valve and the thermac valve are usually operated by a vacuum. Make sure all the vacuum lines are connected correctly to both these valves. Some valves are controlled electronically, if your valves operate like this then you may need to check into the electronics and wiring for the two valves.
The engine is able to tell if the air going into the intake manifold is too cold by sensors. The sensors might be broken which would cause them to tell the computer on the engine the wrong information. The sensors might be telling the computer to open the EGR valve more, thus causing the engine to stall. Or it might be telling the computer to keep the thermac valve closed. Check your sensors like the air temperature sensor located somewhere on the intake manifold.
