John Paul (nissan expert) i have a 1994 nissan p/u with a manual transmission. It won't shift into 1st gear.

Question:
the truck will not shift into 1st gear from neutral after it has warmed up. It will shift when cold and i am able to downshift into 1st. Any ideas on the part or where I could find the whole transmission? Thanks for any help with this.

i own a shop,and i can help you with it,the clutch master cylinder may be going out on it,this wont let the clutch fully dis- engage and makes it real hard to get in first gear,sometimes second also,after that the vehicle is moving and it becomes a lot easier to get in gear,that's the most common cause of this good luck i hope this helps.

looks like the main clutch is slipping now. may be its time for a new clutch. as you said its manual transmission so this transmission has a huge clucth outside of gear box. that thing need to be replaced. and it doesn't cost too much but still its epensive .
