If so where can I find them on the net, which auto parts store? Are they refered to as problem codes? Is there a place on the dash or something that I can find these codes? So in a way (if they exist) its like doing a diagnostic check?

All codes must be retrieved from the vehicle via a scanner. Some places will offer this for free but will not diagnose the problem for you.
