Question:
I am putting this engine in a car and want an estimate on how much power and torque this engine will gain by in stock form by switching to a carburator. i really dont know what cfm the carburator should be but i know 600cfm is enough. also with a tipical stroker kit and stock heads (which i will have ported and flow tested to match a cam) what kind of power can i expect and with what cfm.

Does any one know what this light means on a buick?
well you can expect not much more power then you have now since the vortech is already doing about all it will do . you will lose hp when going to carb and stroking it only loses torque at low rpm if you want more hp and torquejunk the vortech and buy you a 400 small block chevy have it bored 30 over use mid 80's 305 heads just have them cleaned and drill the steam holes in them to match the blockuse a good set of head gaskets and a 750 dual line double pumper carb you will have a 406 cube motor about 400 hp and about 425 ft of tourque of course you will need to run good gas and the best additive you can buy or just run aviation gas and gasoline mix best street motor you can build... all for under the price of haveing that vortech stroked... 400 block 150.00 bore 90.00 piston kit 230.00 carb 350.00 heads junk yard price head job 40.00 each plus claimer kit(valve guides inserts rocker arms etc)80.00 so good luck hope that helps. My car is making strange noises when turning...help!?
proper fuel injection usually produces better power than a carburator. if ya want to raise the power try going to an after market high performance chip for the fuel injection computer instead!note too that the HP chip will often also increase your gas mileage
