How to make a front lip for a bumper?

Question:
As stated, im looking into making a front lip for my car, but dont know how to go about it. im pretty handy with fiberglass and bondo, so getting the shape for the lip is my problem.

Well assuming that your front bumper cover is plastic you will need to stay away from fiberglass and filler. Most bumper covers are a TPO plastic and the polyester resin in fiberglass and filler will not stick to TPO. The best bet for you to use is 3Ms Flexible plastic repair. It is pricey and requires a special two part gun to mix it. As far as getting the shape that you want, we always use bolster foam for seats and upholstery work. The foam comes in several thickness and easily shaped using an electric carving knife (like the one you use to carve the turkey with) and an angle grinder. But you should know that if you are trying to create some kind of ground effect for you cover it will be much more economical to purchase an aftermarket ground effect cover and modify it yourself.
