Ok, i know i am a girl, give me a chance...Try removing the fuel pump fuse and turning the engine several times per minute for about 3-5 minutes. Then replace the fuse and try to start. Nissans of that year are known for dumping fuel on top of the cylinders, which will cause a "flooding condition".your alternator probably went out when you replaced your distrubutor.. they are random like that...

The timing is off or spark plugs are bad. The cheapest fix is to replace the spark plugs first to ensure there is fire going to the cylinders. If that didn't work then check the timing belt and the timing.How do I turn the 'Check Engine' light off on my 94 Geo Metro?
Sorry you got it backwards, it will turn over but not crank.
did you put the new rotor button in..if yes your plug-wires are not on right ,,do you have fire. you need to determine that first before you go any farther

The key to this mess is: Did you put the distributor in in time with the engine, for if the distributor is out of time the engine will not run.I have a 98 Sentra & recently had the same problem. The first (and only) thing we did was replace the spark plugs and she turned right over and started like new!

ps - if it was the alternator, it wouldn't crank, so it can't be that. I've had that die on my old car many times, so I know. It would just "click" when you tried to start it.
