Brake Controller removal drains battery?

Question:
Hi folks, someone removed a Tekonsha brake controller from the truck which used to belong to my father once we sold the trailer, now the battery is dead. There's one black wire which is not connected to anything anymore, and a plug which isn't plugged into the controller obviously. Is there anything I should try?

Answers:

Can i use a new nissan key fob on an old key?

that just doesn't sound right to me. I don't know how the plug and ground for the brake controller can pull the battery down. How long was it sitting after the controller was removed? I install brake controllers for people all the time. I work at a R V and motor home repair shop. We do fifth wheel installations.

Looking for new driveshafts for my primera?

That should not affect the batt unless you noticed the brake lights staying on too.
