What can be wrong with my transmission on my Mitsubishi Galant, 1989.?

Question:
The car stalls on acceleration and jerks as I drive down the street. I checked the transmission fluid and its full and I can see no signs of leaks. The car jerks and can barely make it up even small hills. Someone said it could be transmission modulator, but the mechanic I asked said there's no such thing on the mitsubishi. Will appreciate all answers.

Answers:

Can you please give me some advice on how to change out wheel bearings?

I'd say the fluid is old and you have burnt the clutches, time for a rebuild.

Help with my car problem?

that doesnt really sound like the tranny, sounds more like maybe the cat.,or it needs a good tune-up.does it slip or anything like that, and does it change gears good?if it changes gears good and it doesnt slip, then i would say its not the tranny.
