Should my friend help pay for car door that she broke?

Question:
My friend & I took a long trip and I drove. When my friend was getting out of the car, she pulled on the handle a little too hard and broke the plastic covering, making it so that the door can only be opened from the outside. The plastic has completely broken off in some places. I know she didn't mean to brake the door but now I've got to get it fixed and it's going to cost me abt $250. Should I ask her to help pay a portion of the cost? She offered but I didn't say anything at the time...not sure what to do. Need some advice...BTW, the car is a late 90's model.

I am sure she didn't mean to break it, but if she were a good friend she would offer...and since she HAS offered, ask if she wouldn't mind going in half.

My ford F-250 will stall on me while driving why and how to fix it?

In case you didn't know, cars need maintenance and repairs occasionally. Unless your friend intentionally used excessive force on the door handle, I would say the repair would be your responsibility. Parts get old, and they break. That's the life of a car owner. Sorry!

Well, I think it's good enough she did offer, but you shouldn't make her pay for it because it really wasn't intentional.

How can I make a warning indicator for my car for when my headlights are on and my ignition is off?

Besides, I haven't heard of a car door handle that could be so easily damaged; maybe your equipment needed looking at in the first place.

Its my 18th birthday and I was wondering what I should have done to my 1998 Mercedes ML320 to make it faster?

Try to see if you can get it repaired for a cheaper price, or better still if there's any way you can alleviate the situation through improvisation (e.g. finding something you can attach to the door as a replacement for the handle), if you don't want to spend that much.

98 durango 22" rims?

It's just bad luck this happened. Take it easy!

My car will stall randomly, then take numerous tries to start...sometimes doesn't start 'til next day.

Unless your friend is a weightlifter that door handle must have been ready to break. And $250 is ridiculous. She's not responsible for you getting ripped off for a $50 job.
