how to take out thermostat housing on a 98 civic dx??
Trim it's toenails(Talon. get it?). Or it could be the valve lifters. As for red hot part, I'd say you need some serious attention. You didn't mention if it's a turbo. Turbochargers can get really hot, but I don't think they should get so hot that they would glow.Volvo XC90 driven under 5,000 miles/year oil question?
Firstly if your engine is getting red hot you really need to take it to a mechanic ASAP before you cook it and it seizes for good and you will be up for a new engine. As for the tapping sound I dont know the car (its not a model brought out in Australia) however you might want to find out if it has tappets and if so they may need replacing - they timing belt or chain (which ever it has) may be loose or a number of other things. My SEAT Toledo 1.8 20V (1999) intermittently loses power?
Go to a mechanic, it sounds like your lifters are tapping because they are starved for oil, and if you are seeing red you have serious problems, I predict serious mechanical failure in the near future. Of course it may not be a lifter, it could be a rod bearing in which case I predict serious mechanical failure in the VERY near future. Sorry for the bad news.please show car speedometre with both mph and killometres?
1. quit putting in oil2. quit putting in coolant
3. quit letting it get red hot
4. quit driving it NOW
5. have it towed to your mechanic to be diagnosed. Do not drive it there.
Could be your valves. Try burninh high octane fuel. If it stops then its your valves.
1995 buick regal .3.8. Starter turns slow sometime ,not battery .What does this mean ?
lol the engine gets red hot? damn I'm surprised its still running. Quit putting oil in it unless it needs oil same with coolant. It needs attention from an machanic cause red hot engine just isn't right.More Questions & Answers ...
