My car a 1993 ponitac sunbird runs well in very cold weather for about 15 20 min.then it seems to bog down.?

spring has arrived,problem worsend to the point where car runs app. 2 min.before acting up(bogs)down.when giving gas ,no response,it bogs .when shifting to drive,it wont go,it stalls.

have your mechanic look at it..sounds like a cracked head..or vacuum leak.

Sounds to me like your thermostat needs to be replaced. The stat is probably stuck partially closed and your computer therefore thinks it's cold and is flooding the engine with gas. If you have black smoke coming from the exhaust then I'm sure this is the problem.
