How much power steering fluid do I need?

Question:
'98 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 I4 2.7ltr Reg Cab
I'm replacing the rack in my tacoma and I know that I'm gonna have to drain all the power steering fluid to get it done, but I need to know how much fluid to buy before I start working.

Answers:

Can i replace the rack and pinion myself?

Purchase 4 separate Quart plastic bottles of Toyota power steering fluid or fluid of the correct type. Fill the small reservoir and start engine. Have a friend attempt to turn the steering wheel. Keep adding fluid till the steering wheel feels lighter to the person behind the wheel. Add one quart at a time till the reservoir is full to the top fill line on the reservoir. 3 quarts should fill it. Return the unused fluid.

The lights on my car look dry and not shiny anymore how can i make them look like new again?

rita most automotive parts centers like autozone or advanced auto parts will give you an idea. ps fluid is not expensive and remember you won't lose all your fluid only whats in the rack and pinion unless you leave hoses in position to lose all fluid in pump and reservoir. i guessing maybe one qt try buying 2 and keep receipt. most centers will reimburse you if you don't use it. hope this helps
