bleed the brakes.you shouldnt need a new master.it sounds like there is air in the lineyour not giving enough details. If you are saying your brake peddle is going to the floor, Then it could be a few things. If your losing break fluid then your master cylinder could be bad. If your now losing break fluid, I would check your power brake booster.

did you bench bleed the cyl. before installing??Check brake calipers/pads. If pads are worn all the way down the piston in the caliper will be fully extended causing excessive pedal travelCheck the fluid level first, see if there's any there. If there is fluid but no pressure then it's the master cylinder.
The booster can make the pedal hard, but not soft, well not softer than it's supposed to be.
