I lost my car keys. I drive a 1998 rover 400. what should i do?
Sounds to me like your transmission has went out. I seriously doubt the fluid had anything to do with it. In an emergency situation, I'd put any fluid in rather than run it dry. The only other thing I can think of is to siphon some out thru the dipstick hole with one of those siphon hoses with a squeeze ball on it and then make sure to add the right amount. If you don't have enough fluid in to begin with, it may not move. But most likely, this sounds like the transmission is shot. Sorry.need help with no parking lights or dash lights on 95 Toyota Corrola?
Depending on the amount of type F fluid you installed it would work as a "shift modifier" (harsher shifts). If you added several litres/quarts the chemical base of the fluid could have distored the internal seals, and clutch fibers of the transmission. It is more likely that the problem has been accumulating for sometime. How do you replace roof lining with no exsisting lining, metal only?
If the fluid is too thin the valvebody will not function, it is the same if your low on fluid, the valvebody cannot move, or function without the proper fluid. So dain out the fluid you just got, properly dispose of it, and get the right atf.How long does shop have ?.......?
always read your cars repair manual before attempting ANY repairs or maintenance.
First thing to do is drain and flush trans. if you were not having a problem with trans before, then viscosity is wrong with oil. to drain trans. jack up car and take bolts out of trans oil pan. ( should be anywhere from 16 to 20 bolts, depending on type of trans.) change trans filter, replace pan and gasket, fill with PROPER TYPE fluid, and let idle for few minutes to allow fluid to circulate through trans. check fluid level with trans in park and engine running. when filled to proper level, vehicle should be back to normal.
Where is a torque arm found on a late model mack truck and what does it do?
I agree with blue j ..........sounds like your tranny just went out on you. Putiing the wrong ATF in a transmission wont make it act like you just described and in that sequence. Typical signs of a tranny on its way out.More Questions & Answers ...
