The window doesn't respond to the switch at all--could it be in the switch itself or is it the window motor and how hard is this to do?

could be the contact point in the switch. this is a simple fix if you have the part from a junk yard, ebay or parts department from dealership.Anyone know about the Emission Control System on Rover 400?
being a GM it would just pop out by pushing forward or back, should just be a tab or two holding it in. pull the entire power button area out and unplug it, plug in the new, pop back into place. if that is the problem.

next would be the zip tie or motor itself. this is a bit harder as the door panel has to come off and digging into the door has to be done. I would rate this at about a 4 or 5 on a scale of 1-10 of 10 being the hardest.
Dodge Minivan: Hesitates to go into Drive?
a good trick to get the window up for now so you can drive, park it out of the weather, etc. get the door panel off, manually slide the window back up, then take a pair of lock tights/lock jaws/locking pliers, and clamp them to the metal slide rod the window is riding on just below the glass. this will lock the window in the up position.

More than likely it is the window motor. First, you would want to see if you have power at the connector for the motor, if you do, you have a bad motor. A trick to maybe get it back up, is to tap on the motor with a hammer while holding the switch to make it go up. Sometimes, that will get it back up ubntil you can get a motor.I have an 01 the switch went out. There is a regulator on the motor also that can go out.
