What is the Average hourly wage for a Master Tech in Charlston, SC?
You probably have a car that can be set to read in both metric (kilometers) and English (Miles) units. When the shop serviced your car they probably recorded your mileage from your odometer and accidently touched the button on your dashboard that switches it to metric. 100 km per hour would be about 65 mph. I used to work at a GM dealership and I saw this happen a lot.Check the buttons on your dash and look for one that says "E/M" or 'Units" or something like that.
This is the caliper lady again no im not blonde! Where can I buy them. Not paint to paint them. Ta?
That often means that your tires have been replaced with a smaller model or damage has been down to your inner rims. A smaller tire means the tire spins more with the same engine power known as more RPM (rounds per minute) and the speedometer is converts RPM into MPH.1990 bronco 2 with 2.9 liter,it loses oil pressure when it gets hot could this be a sending unit?
They've messed something up bad. You need to take it back up to them tommorow (they should be open) and tell them either they need to fix it or pay for you to take it to the dealership to get it fixed. Speedometer is usually a dash thing, but I don't know why they would be getting in there for your tires. And if they cut a wire or something, it wouldn't be working at all. They are completely responsible for it.would marvel mystery oil hurt my engine.?
they may have knocked off a speed sensor somewhere :(Where Can I buy Effer Crane Parts In The U.K.?
Unless the tires were different sizes this would not have an effect on your speedometer. The speedometer has a cable that runs into a housing on the transmission and then from there to the back of the speedometer gauge proper. Do you hear a whining noise from the dash board? Is the needle movement steady or does it bounce. If it does it would indicate a problem with the fitting into the gauge itself.Regardless, I would take it back to the shop to have them fix it. At least when it is on the lift they could check the fitting at the transmission.
Good luck!
Your speed sensor is definitely out.
well depending on how old the car is it may have the sensors in the rims and they dident get set right
Where can I get a 302 V8 engine for a classic Mustang?
CHECK THE DISPLAY ON YOUR DASH TO SEE IF IT'S READING MPH OR KILOMETERS.THERE SHOULD BE A BUTTON THAT SWITCHES BETWEEN THE TWO. THERE IS NOTHING OUT AT THE WHEELS THAT WOULD THROW OFF YOUR SPEEDOMETER. YOUR OUTPUT FOR YOUR GAUGE IS RUN OFF EITHER A SPEEDO-GEAR OR A VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR ON OR IN THE TRANNY. TIRE CENTERS HAVE TO WRITE THE MILEAGE DOWN FOR WARRANTY REASONS AND THAT'S PROBABLY WHERE YOUR PROBLEM LIES.More Questions & Answers ...
