Question:
I told the service advisor to replace the timing belt along with that. So far my estimated total is around $700.00. WOAH. I signed it though. My car is there right now. I also suspect my cv boot is bad so he will probably call about replacing that and I'm betting he will tell me to replace the water pump. These are all things I'm willing to fix right now if he suggests it.
is the perkins 6247 engine good or bad?
Now my question. What should I expect the costs of this to be? I know I went to TOYOTA so it's going to be expensive but are there any tips in what to avoid or do to avoid getting ripped on unnecessary charges they will come up with? Do you think he will call with some bogus stuff so he can make his "dolla dolla bill"?

a 90k service is about $400-500... and a timing belt can be anywhere from $250-500, depending on the car...1997 Buick Lesabre....keeps turning off!!?
the cost isn't unreasonable. I know it's a lot, and I know it sux. But I don't think they're ripping you off.
That's the thing about 90k miles... you pay for maintenance, or you buy a new car instead.
