i have a 64 merc monteray with a two barrel that i have retired along with the manifold it now has a factory four barrel manifold in need of a edelbrock carberator . anyone know a specific model #Thanks

Can a leaky water pump cause the check engine light to come on ?

Best bet is to contact edelbrock and ask then for a recommendation given your engine size and any other modifications plus intended use. They will get you what you need.

In the 64 Mercury monterey you could get a 352,390,or 427.
Its probably not a 427.
1 - square bore
2 - ford kick down (if you have an automatic)
3 - 600-650 cfm
4 - single or dual inlet OK
5 - Vacuum secondary - no double pumpers.
