when did steam engines stop running?

the lifters are most probably worn, try an oil change with a good quality oil and give it some time to see what happens. also try a lighter grade of oil, also try an engine flush before changing the oil incase its a blocked oil gallery in the engine not allowing oil up to the lifters

1990 Ford Escort coolant light coming on but the car is not reading hot?

could be a clogged up valve, when its clogged and oil cant surround it ,the motor will tap until the oil flows over the blocked valve to quieten it down.the trick to fixing that problem if you do you own oil changes,is pouring a quart of kerosene into the motor while its idling, and let the truck idle for about 1/2 hour, don't Rev the truck just let it idle, and what that does is break down the clumped up oil and drop it down to the oil pan and you can drain it out .
now be warned when cleaning the inside the motor .do not put your foot on the accelerator, you could damage the engine

Help with batteries?

That clicking noisy is caused by lifters not getting the oil they need. This can be caused by several things, most notably a worn out oil pump. Or a clogged oil filter screen. Or clogged oil passages. Given the age of the vehicle, the lifters could also be worn. That's an expensive problem to fix, unless you do it yourself. You can, it's really not that hard. But get a autorepair manual if you do for your specific car. You have to set the valve lash settings exactly according to specifications if you put in new lifters. The clicking sound goes away after awhile, because oil is finally reaching them. That is why I think it is an oil problem. Step one: check your oil level. Make sure you have the proper amount of oil. That could be a very simple cause of this.

i have a 2001 chevy impala how do you fix the security light it turns on and sometimes my car wont start?

i am going with a lifter that is dirty, and maybe oil flow when cold. an easy 'fix' would be to do an oil change, but use a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil in place of one of the quarts of oil. MMO will penetrate the rings and lifters and help clean them out. it will also do good for the valve seals. i have had great luck with MMO and it won't hurt to try. do it for a couple of oil changes and if it doesn't go away then just live with the ticking until you need major engine work and fix the lifter then. you can find MMO at better auto parts stores and check the label to see what it's about. it is not an engine flush, just a penetrating oil. it gets into tight places and lubricates. i had a car that you couldn't drive on the highway without using a lot of oil. after two oil changes with MMO i drove it to FL from CT on one quart. the engine had 165,000 on it by then. costs about $5.00. good luck!

sounds like the lifters are ticking, you can use a thicker oil like Castrol 20w-50,, which is all I use,

Most likely you have noisy valve lifters.

LPG or not LPG??

its probably the lifters.they loose their prime overnight.it takes a while for them to pump up.

Does anyone know where the Fuel Pump Relay is located on a 1990 Toyota Pickup V6?

It's probably the air conditioner compressor cycling on and off, they do that even if you don't have the air turned on.
