Regular bulbs or leds?

You need to rotate the engine until the #1 cylinder is at the top of the compression stroke. You can tell this by removing the spark plug and placing your finger over the hole while a helper bumps the engine around with the starter. (You'll want to have the ignition disconnected for this.)

Why my car die sometime?

Once you feel the engine building compression on that cylinder, use a socket wrench and rotate the engine over by hand and line the timing mark on the balancer with the tab on the timing chain cover. Put the mark on 10deg BTDC.this should be well within a range to get any engine started.

Line your distributor/rotor up with the #1 position, verify your wiring/firing order, lock it all down and start it.

I just bought a 90 Chevy 1500 4x4. the original 5.7 engine was swapped w/ a 98 5.7. is this engine OK for tbi?

After you have it running, use a timing light and set it to spec, or where you want it.

Starter filter location ?..need help :)?

Go to Sears, buy an inductive timing light, Also a distributor wrench. Loosen the bolt holding the distributor in place. Remove the vacuum hose from the vacuum advance and plug it. The Red wire (timing light)goes to the coil wire, Black goes on the #1 spark plug wire (driver side front plug). Clean off the timing marks (tab by the crank pulley) I use gumout or some equilivant. Start the car, aim the light at the tab. Read what it says, I think it should be 4 degrees BTDC(before top dead center) is the correct setting for this engine. I'm not 100 percent on that. Turning the distributor clockwise or counter- clockwise advances or retards the timing. GRADUAL turning, very small increments, are key here. Once you have it correct, tighten the distributor bolt without disturbing the distributor. Reconnect the vacuum line to the vac. advance. Test drive it. Make sure you get on it a little to see if it pings under load. If it does, advance it a little until the ping goes away. Hope this helps! Good Luck!

AUTO A/C PROBLEMS...ADVICE MUCH APPRECIATED! ('99 chevy silverado)?

First replace points and condensor, and set correctly. Find out the dwell angle number for your engine. Probably 12 degrees. Loosen the distributer cap retainer clamp bolt, so distributer can be rotated with hard hand pressure. Connect a timing light to the #1 spark plug and a ground. Point a timing light at the fly wheel, found on the front bottom of your engine, behind fan belts. You will see a pointer next to markings and degree numbers at the bottom edge of your timing wheel. If the pointer does not line up with the required number, rotate the distibuter until it does. Tighten distributer and recheck the timing with light.
If you don't have a timing light ($20 at the auto store), you can sometimes get these old engines to run better by feeling the exhaust leaving the tail pipe. You want a steady beat in the exhaust, then test drive.
