Problems with 2003 Chevy Malibu?
Ammco stay away. First time I dealt with these idiots was on my 1990 Pathfinder 4x4. My dear husband over heated the auto trans off roading since he got a hole in the radiator and kept on driving so trany at 45k miles. The trany was never the same. And since it was a 4x4 hidden in the warranty info not explained or read by hubby as well there was a limited warranty since I guess they think we 4x4 people abuse our cars. But why did you buy a 4x4 in the first place right. Anyway 15k miles on the rebuilt tranny and it goes out like loose every gear except reverse on the freeway. They said that we abused the tranny. Not likely. So I bought direct from Nissan cost me more and had a nissan shop not dealer replace the tranny. When I retired her she had almost 300k miles on it.peugeot 405 diesel rock hard brake pedal virtually no brakes?
2nd time around was due to company fleet repairs on a chevy i drove for work. This 4x4 had hard miles and the factory tranny died at 40k miles since fleet would not maintain it and ignored the slipping complaint. But oh well. A complete rebuild. I complained as I knew Ammco was a rip off but did me no good. 10k miles trany starts to slip. Chevy dealer even notes trany in trouble. Dealer tried to salvage the trany woith service pan drop down and inspection. They said they never cleaned the tranny and metal shavings was still inside. It was burning fluid after 3500k miles. 4x4 stopped transxfering after they worked on the tranny as well. Dealer had to fix that problem. After Ammco tried to sell company a new transfer case. I knew it was not the transfer case.

So word of advice. Check your better business bureau for a trany shop that has been open for many years and has no complaints or burea of automotive repairs if your state has one. Stay away from these chain places. They are franchises. They turn employees over, and truly think most of these workers are dealer rejects. If you can afford the dealer proces they generally have good mechanics.
I own a 1968 caddy, its running a 427 can I bolt up a 1972, 425 from a eldorado?
warranty is always good. Is that warranty good on parts and labor? If so go with them.car died while driving it--just had a lot of work done 3 months ago?
I would never take my car to a place like that. The best and most honest service I've ever gotten is from little self owned shops that are owned and run by ex-factory technicians. One I went to was an ex-Honda tech and the other an ex-Chevy tech. Both had YEARS of experience before going out on their own. Both had better prices than anywhere else, both did better work than I'd ever received anywhere else, and both were honest (I know cars, and gave them the opportunity to try to B.S. me, but they never did). A small place like that is going to be far more concerned with customer service, as they need the word of mouth business and a loyal customer base to stay afloat. Places like Aamco, Pep Boys, and even most dealerships don't give a rip about you and your car, and most (with the exception of dealerships) have poorly trained technicians with barely any experience.
It got really cold, and now my car won't start. How can I fix it?
Amoco is a good place thy have been around a long time I'm a bad speller to Just go to CHECK SPELLING CLICK ON ITS SHOWS YOU THE WRITE SPELLING DON'T FEEL BAD ' I STARTED TO WORK IN THE 7 GRADEok i have a yerf dog gocart and it blows smoke out of the exhuast wats wrong?
If your problem is you have too much money in your bank account then AAMCO is a good place to have that problem fixed.HELP ME! i have a poor 85 camaro :(?
They generally have a reputation much like Midas and Jiffy Lube. That is they sucker unsuspecting motorists into spending way more than they planned to, to fix, replace and repair things that aren't even broken in the first place, that or they offer to flush your transmission fluid or clean your throttle body for $89.95.
Mostly they are con artists. If you have a warranty of some kind and they are going to fix something for FREE under it, then go for it. I'm sure they have some people there that know what they are doing. Just be ready when they try to get you to spend a bunch of money on other things that you didn't even come in there for.
How do you get gum and tar off?
You should go to a regular shop to get your job done and you may have a better warrantyAAMCO and other national chains like it are transmission stores. They sell transmissions so that can make the greatest profit.
How can you make a car fail a smog test?
Find a few local repair transmission repair shops, better if they are ATRA certified (this is for automatics, but it shows they know how to work on trannies).
I dealt with AAMCO about 25 years ago (in St Petersburg, FL) and was very DISsatified. They charged me for parts and labor to replace the carrier bearing on my van. A month later, I discovered that my van still had the original carrier bearing. This discovery came about as a result of having a "back yard mechanic" repair my transmission... after I had already paid AAMCO to fix it. In other words, my transmission stopped working 30 days after AAMCO fixed it.
NO. I would NOT recommend AAMCO to anyone.
