If you live in the uk buy a haynes manual and a copy of the fundementals of vehicle technology, the hanynes manual will tell you how to do stuff and give you pics and the fundementals gives you the theory behind it, i used them both a lot when teaching for 10 years

first thing you need to do is forget about the internet go down and get your self a book on your car then go out and tinker around with the little things like changing your oil and tune ups. its the best way to learn how to work on cars other then having a family of mechanics.
