I own a 1981 Ford LTD. I've totally restored it with blue paint, racing stripes, Grant steering wheel, dual hood scoops, crager mags, 351W engine, T5 transmission, dual hood scoops, diamond plate dash, new interior, etc. It's a really nice car that turns heads. Well, after spending all of this money and taking this car to shows and winning several awards, now the engine is a mess. The engine knocks horribly and when you start the engine, it forces the oil filter off and oil spills out everywhere. I really don't know what is wrong. Everyone keeps telling me that I'd be better off replacing the engine. Any advice from anyone?

First off, check to see if the threads are stripped at the oil filter, as it is not possible to blow oil unless there is a major problem. Once fixed, you may need to do an overhaul to inspect the valves... loud knocking also could be a wrist pin let go and is now loose in the crankcase...a mess as you have said.Oh, and next time you pimp put a car start with a good engine.

Sounds like your check valve in the oil pump is stuck, I would replace the oil pump, then do a manual check to make sure that the pressures are ok....trying to find out about my Honda Odyssey warranty regarding the struts?

Sounds like an oil-way blockage. Pressure building up on one side of the blockage and no oil to the downstream side. The components on the downstream side are shot due to oil starvation. Time for a tear-down and rebuild. Sorry.Estimate the costs of these parts?

I think bobin35 is right. Sounds like a bad relief valve, and a spun bearing. Don't run it anymore until you pull the bottom end apart and take a look. Worst case scenario, you have to rebuild it, best case scenario, replace a couple bearings with some .010 under bearings and replace an oil pump.where can i find a replacement front bumper for a 1986 chevrolet celebrity?
