I never worry what the gap is as long as you get the correct spark plug ,, by this I mean the electrode should be parallel to the main body of the plug, if it isnt , agjust as needed, a thousands off isnt going to make any difference in your car running as the high output coil takes care of spark

Can I sell a damaged car on eBAY? How?

You can setup a login and it will save your vehicle. I believe if you hit the Shopping Link, it will also ask for your car make and remember it as well. Anyways, after your vehicle shows up on the upper left corner, then go to the Repair Info link, on the left. It will show all the specs to your car, from sparkplug gap, to fluid capacity, to component locations, firing order, all the good stuff...

Anyone know what else I can check or do to get the heating working on a Renault 19?

Rich2481 should go back to auto repair 101. Look under the hood, on the underside of the hood, or on the wheel-well, or on the radiator support, there should be a white(usually) sticker that has various information on it including engine size(liters, usually), and, spark plug gap, among other info. There are other stickers also, but look for that one, and you will find the info you are looking for. As for proper gap, the proper gap will help the computer to keep the engine operating at it's most efficient level, this is one of the best reasons to keep plugs gapped properly, proper gap will, in addition, help to add longetivity to electronic components by decreasing 'load' on said components.
