Question:
I was getting a squealing noise from my rear drivers side wheel when I drove, also sometimes when braking, I took the wheel off to have a look, but not a mechanic, the squealing has stopped for now, the car had just been serviced and mot`d, any ideas, serious comments, as I use car with small baby, (safety)
Answers:
Is your car a Honda? If so they use a squeal maker to indicate when the brake pads need to be replaced. It could be this. Alternativly you possibly need the rear brakes serviced.
Can Clearcoat cover or help a real bad, faded paint job which feels like sandpaper?
Well sometimes it is just the breaks. Take it back to mecanics as the fluid might be low or not been checked properly. It might just be your tyre was on a bit wonkey - that happened to me and we changed it and it waas fine!!If the recent service included the brakes, it's unlikely to be wear - they'd have told you, and probably tried to get you to have them changed if they're getting low.
Could you please give me your opinions and feedback?
Could be several things, including a piece of grit stuck in there if they're discs on the back. As you so rightly imply, you can't afford to take chances, so I'd get a mechanic to look if only to set your mind at rest.
Usually cause by brake dust on the disc/shoes. Can be solved by cleaning the brakes and applying CopperSlip Brake grease. If you are not mechanically minded get your local garage to conduct a brake check - Kwik Fit do a brake service for about £35 to £40 depending on he type of car.
If the car has just been serviced take it back and ask for an explaination.
If your car has rear drum brakes the shoes could be worn excessively or sometimes it is just a buildup of brake dust in the drum that causes noise. If they are rear disc brakes the squealer on the pad may be contacting the rotor (install new brake pads).

'93 Ford F-150 Windshield Wipers Won't Work?
If It Is Equipped With Rear Disc Brakes Then it may of been the Wear indicator telling you that its time for brakes.
If Drum Brakes It may have been Dirt or a small rock in the drum Causing the sound.
Does the wheel spin free when jacked up? If Not Take it To your repair shop.
I am from san francisco, where can i get a good car paint job for a good price?
You need to get your Brakes double checked even if the squealing has stopped for now.How many miles to the gallon does a 97 grand am get?
Take it into your local tyre/exhaust/brake shop..QF or similar. They'll check it over and have everything 100% in about an hour.
An MoT only lets you know it was OK at the time it was tested...nothing more.
Don't gamble with brakes.
As you say your car has just been serviced and MOT'd there should be nothing to worry about from a safety point of view. There are generally only 2 things that would make a squealing noise, firstly as others have pointed out, the brakes pads may be worn or without copper grease on the back (this stops them from vibrating) or secondly a damaged or worn wheel bearing. since these are both checked during an MOT you should have nothing to worry about. If you are still concerned, take it to another garage for a second opinion. It will cost you nothing and give you peace of mind.
Why do i keep seeing talking trees and flying numbchucks?
