gm th-350 tranny. goes in reverse but no forward gears? what can be done to fix it?
The only real reason for doing this is to have a CONVENIENT means of displacing the air in the system when the filters are changed.Newer vehicles (particularly the light-duty engines in pick-ups) no longer requires the priming of the filters before assembly. Merely cycling the key several times will accomplish the same thing.
As to the benefits or liabilities, there isn't really any of either, unless dealing with one of the cat-equipped power plants. Then the excess oil in the exhaust MAY contribute to POSSIBLE cat deterioration.

will 2005 intrepid r/t rotors fit a 97 intrepid?
Just use fuel. Modern diesel engines are not subject to the ware associated with momentary loss of fuel when the system primes after a filter change like the old ones were.I have a toyota coralla t3 and now it has a starting problem when i am going to start t?
I always fill them with dieselIt is what I also use when on the road replacing a filter that was clogged so bad it made the truck stop running. When your on the road unless you carry a can of deisel around with you all the time it's hard to come by fuel to charge the filter. It does no harm, cleans the injectors and lubricates as well. It's way easier to carrry a case of dextron And cleaner and safer than carrying fuel. Used this method alot when I ran in a roadside service truck on break downs
why do have to do emissions/saftey tests on your car in some states, but not in others.?
One thing to consider is that the dye they use to color the Dexcron is the same one used to dye untaxed fuel. Once the Tranny fluid goes into the system if any bleeds back trough the unused fuel system into the tank it will effectivly dye the deisel in the tank like off-road fuel. You get checked you could pay a hefty fine. This is not a real issue for pick-ups and cars. Just something to think about.More Questions & Answers ...
