Why isnt my car radio working?

Question:
i bought a neon kit for my car and tried to splice into the wire on the back of my radio, i hooked it into an orangish/red striped wire (which i almost was POSITIVE i knew was the acc to my car) and now i cant get my radio to turn on or get any power to my neon through it.
