Car insurance?

Question:
My car was involved in an accident. My insurance co said that I have to wait until the opposite party did not make a claim before I can sell/repair. It is three weeks now. What should I do? Should I write to the opposite party and the insurance co that if I do not receive claim, say in 7 days, I would assume there is no claim. I want to sell my car asap. Any suggestions?
