There is a 2 part tool one for the actual nut, and one to slip over the pulley bolts to give leverage for removing that fan nut. Hope that makes sense. Can I use Automatic Transmission Oil in a hydraulic system?

As far as loosening the nut you have two options. The first is to rent a fan nut wrench set from autozone. If that does not work then you will have to do what I had to do, and that is use a air hammer and a chisel and try to turn the nut with that. As far as holding the pulley, either use a pipe wrench or use ( do not know the name) the tool that has a handle and a bike chain on the other end to hold the pulley, you will need two people. If the nut refuses to loosen the last resort will be to use a torch to heat the nut on the shaft, do not heat to red hot.is it safe to drive my truck if the transmission is kind of messed up?
