best buy told me to buy a cd player from them and pay 100. plus the installation fee which would be 60 extra dollars.so a total of 160.00$. what exactly do they do? do they take the dashboard off ? or what. how long will it be time wise. can i get speakers too?

If you want to do it yourself, you'll need to take off the dash panel. You can try carstereohelp.com to see if they have instructions. Some are free and some cost money. Either way, you can look at the free ones to get an idea of how they come off. You will also probably need to get adapters for your car to fit the new stereo. You can probably look on ebay for those. you could also ask bestbuy if you can supply the adapters for them to use. it will be a lot cheaper online than thru them. save your money and do it yourself.just go to radio shack and get a face plate and hook-up harness.take your dash out and remove your old radio.the harness is color coded,so you cant get the wires mixed up,wire it to your cd player and put the face plate on and plug the harness into your factory harness and install the cd player and put the dash back togeather,and now your ready to rock and roll.its really easy to install ,sounds difficult,by the way iam telling you,but its not.More Questions & Answers ...
