you can buy a cold air intake for your car that is scecific and pay for the "specific-nes" meaning the flanges that are bent where they need to be in order to run it out into the bumper, or you can make it: you need the proper rubber flanges(home depot) and the right diameter pipe(alum.) or abs(plastic) also avail. at home depot, you need to be good at measuringand estimating with the material especiallt the alum. once you have everything where it needs to be clamp it all together and make brakets to support it so it doesn't rub anything around the engine(wires ect.) also make sure not to have severe bends, you want it as straight as possible, so you don't restrict the air.i tried this and it worked awesome.....i did it on a 2002 protoge 5 when they first came out. there was nothing available for this car so i created it. it took some time and patience, but the end result was WAY more apealing to others than i could have ever thought. i have actually made several since, of course i don't dyno them or anything but most people buy them for 2 reasons, the look and the sound.
