What all could cause your car to have a vibration in it?

Question:
I have a 1999 Ford Mercury Cougar, front wheel drive, when it's idling you can feel a bad vibration in it just sitting there.. as well as when driving it and staying at a steady speed at like 50, 55, etc.. you can feel a vibration.. what all could cause a vibration in it? Motor mounts? harmonic blancer? Any ideas on what could be the problem would help.. or if you've had a similar problem like a vibration and what fixed it, thanks =)

if it does it when just sitting there it has to be in the engine, clutch, or torque converter, could be the balancer, doubt if it is the mounts, although they could be bad caused by the vibration. the clutch could be comming apart or the torque converter could have lost some of it weights to balance it, if it does it sitting there that rules out tires, rims, and driveline.

see when u feel vibration from inside the car if pretty much every thing in ur car is shaking then its tuf to find reason for every one of them ,if it is the gear stick it because the viberation from ur engien. the gear transmission is directly connected to engine in ur car,then if it is ur interiours it might be because at a constant rpm the engine causes the vibration that resonates with the rest of the car if the car is old ovisly the parts get loos day by day and and the get them right u have to reassemble them again if u take my advice go to some mechanic who hase been reparing old cars and he will pretty much fix ur problem but ramember these might soun like irretating and frustating problems but if u sot it out with cool peace of mind it gets easy ,good luck buddy!!!
