Question:
So here's the deal, I let my b/f use my car to go to work today, not saying he did anything to screw it up, but it was working fine before that.
I have a 2000 Chevy Malibu, The heater won't work, and the car is over heating. What the hell is going on, I just checked the anti freeze, it was low, so that solved the over heating problem, but whats with the heater? The air works fine.

I have a 67 gto with 400 engine want is the best specs for rebuild ? pistons, headers, ect. thanks?
It may be the heater core -- is there antifreeze on the front passenger floor? You bf did not do this, it goes out when it wants to.
your thermostat may be stuck open have it replaced and see what happens
sounds like either your thermostat is sticking or you need a heater core lets hope it is just a thermostat
Are there any caddy transmission experts out there? Need torque converter help.?
the cheapest problem that could be wrong with it is your thermostat is bad and needs to be replaced. no less that 10 dollar fix. or it could be your heater core a bit more costly and the most costly is you have a hole in your radiator. good luck and i hope it is the thermostat. good luck and happy holidays=)The car heater may have an air embolism (air blockage), let the car get warmed up and it should clear it's self.
Sounds like your b/f drove the sh.. out of your poor little car and overheated it.
You might wanna top up the coolant (antifreeze) and see if it occurs again for you.
Do the tire pressure increase when you drive on the freeway and why?thanks?
Your heater controls are electronic, there is a valve under the dash in the heater box that is controled, when the controls go bad, the valve wont either. Its stuck open letting the cold air in.Yeah, funny how it was OK before you let some yokel use your car.
Dump the BF, and head for the dealer for this minor problem
2002 Dodge Caravan LE overhead console light is out.?
If the car had not been overheating prior to this event I would suspect the thermostat. Even if it was ok prior to it has been cooked and I would replace it just to be sure....Not to expensive... The reason that you have no or minimal heat, most likely, is there is air in the heater system..Make sure whoever replaces the thermostat bleeds the system. When the engine is hot the two heater hoses should be unbearably hot...If one is colder than the other there is air in it.....More Questions & Answers ...
