How do I change my fan belt on a 2000 FORD + ESCORT ZX2?
Have the computer scanned. Parts are too expensive to just start replacing stuff, hoping it helps. Autozone will scan it for you if you want to fix it yourself, or almost any repair shop will be able to scan a 12 year old American car. Likely it will just be a sensor you can replace yourself for under $100. But don't just ignore it. Check engine lights are there for a reason.Take it to your local Auto Zone, they'll analyze free of charge and give you a printout of the results.
Car Accident estimate?(modified with pics)?
Many, many possibilities. Go to a diagnostic center to find out if you want to fix it yourself. The important thing is to make sure it's not misfiring (engine runs rough and "skips". also make sure it's not running rich (black smoke, engine gallups and runs rough on deceleration).take it to a dealer they can get the codes off the computer it will tell them if there is a problem.my last 3 vehicle had the check engine light on usually its nothing ,some come on after so many miles just so you get it in and have things checked out
do you guys have any good car repair stories?
it could be different things.the first thing i would check would be the oxygen sensor, but to be sure, take it to auto zone and have them check it out for free.Changed the thermostat...now what?
not really definitive enought to answeron average how long should brand new brake pads last?
it could be many things, ranging from a loose gas cap,to a sensor,it comes on to let you know something needs to be checked, the mechanic will put a tester on it or hook it up to a diagnostic machine to find the source. Is a Ford Focus 1.6 I Zetec-SE an interference engine?
More than likely is is one of your oxygen sensors, I have a 98 explorer and I had to replace 2 sensors.... take it to your local auto store and they will read your computer and tell you what to replace.More Questions & Answers ...
