What information do you need?? Ford used 3 different auto's and 5 different manuals with these engines and as yours is a crossover year for the auto's it really makes a difference. If you have a 3 speed automatic your shifter will read PRND21 you have a C6, If you have a 4 speed automatic and your shift lever reads PRND21 and the D has an O around it you've got an AOD If your shifter reads PRND21 and there is a O/D on/off button at the end if the shift lever you have an E4OD. For manuals if you have a basic 4 on the floor you either have either a Borg-Warner T-18 or a T-19 or a NP435. Looking at the transmission casing you will find the Borg-Warner has a cone shaped bump on it. the T-18 uses a Non-Synchronized first gear and the T-19 uses a Synchronized first gear. That means one shifts from 1st to 2nd easy and the other is a PITA to shift from 1st to 2nd. the NP435 has a flat bottom transmission. All of these transmissions use a fairly low first gear. There are also 2 different 5 speeds if you have a granny first gear 5 speed (really really low first gear) you have a ZF-5 speed if you have a standard 5 speed and start off in 1st for normal driving you have the Mazda 5-speed. SOOOOOO Be a whole lot more specific because like I just explained you could have any 1 of 8 different transmissions.More Questions & Answers ...
