How to check for air in my fuel system, nissan almera tino?

can someone tell me how to check for air in my fuel system, nissan almera tino as it starts to jerk and loose power with white smoke billowing out the back then all of a sudden the smoke will stop and it will regain power again.

i own a repair shop,and that's not air in the system ,,this system was designed to bleed its self out ,and keep the air out,,it sounds like some bad gas or a bad pressure regulator on it,causing this to happen,,if it had that much air in it,,it wouldn't run at all,,good luck hope this help,s.,,have a good x-mas.
