Question:
it has a 2.5l fuel injection motor 4 cylinder called an iron duke thank u to any1 that can help.
Answers:
At all times, remember to mark where everything goes, if a push rod is for cylinder 2 intake valve, make sure it goes back there during assembly.
Remove or disconnect the following:
Rocker arm cover, intake manifold, push rod cover.
Loosen the rocker arms, rotate out of the way so you can remove the push rods. Remove push rods, Remove Lifters.
If you are installing new lifters, clean all sealer coating from inside of new lifters.
how much do bullet proof doors cost?
Lube bearing surfaces with engine oil. Install the following in order:
Lifters
Guide and retainer
Push rods
Position the rocker arms and guides
i've just bought a car. the vehicle docs say fuel type heavy oil what's heavy oil?
With lifter on base circle of camshaft, tighten the rocker arm bolts to 20 ft-lbs
install the push rod cover and intake manifold install the rocker arm cover.
Inspect your work to assure no leaks, and job completion
I will try to give you the best torque info I can here:
on the intake manifold, all manifold to head bolts get torqued to 25 ft-lbs except the left most, it gets 37 ft-lbs (really not a huge difference). Start from the inner most bolt and work your way out back and forth evenly. my specs also list a final torque of 29 ft-lbs for the intake manifold, so anywhere between the 25 and 29 should be fine.Rocker arm bolts torque to 20 ft-lbs. everything else appears to be inch pounds, which is basically snug, I've got some things listed as 90 inch pounds, and the rocker arm cover at 45 inch pounds.
This info is all straight out of the '85 Fiero Factory Service manual (same engine, same stuff!) If I can be of further assistance, let me know srcash@yahoo.com
BTW, there is a test you can do on your old lifters, the leak-down test to find out if they are good or not. apply 50 lbs to them (don't know how you are gonna do this exactly, but if you are creative this test is a good one) They should leak down between 12 and 90 seconds, I have all the specs, so if you need something let me know. Good luck
I think if you go to jcwhitney.com, they have a device to remove your lifters if you want to take them out without removing the heads if I understand you right. Otherwise, go to an Auto parts house and there buy the Haynes Automotive Book. Just get the one for your model and year and it will answer and show you what to do.
i just had my oil pan replaced about 3weeks ago on my 96 'neon,?
http://www.mindspring.com/~fierosketch/o... I don't think this will help any but it's all I could find. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/gm_iron_duk...If you've had the Ziebart Diamond Polish treatment on your car, were you happy with it?
You'll have to remove the egr valve, valve cover, rocker arms and pushrods. You should probably remove the intake manifold too, so it's easier to get side cover of block off to get to the lifters. I would plan on an all day project. (the lifters only come out through that side cover)More Questions & Answers ...
