Question:
I just bought the correct battery, correct plugs and wires oddly enough to help my town car run smoother but in fact it runs rougher especialy when I push the brakes in and I am waiting at a stop light. What should I do and what is causing this madness? No loose motor mounts and the timing is fine. Could it be the NEW carberator or is something grounding it out? Any info is appreciated, Thanks

Also, a worn set of plug wires will give you that rough idle feeling, since they arc through the insulating rubber...
Who knows where this is located.?
Not to step on toes here, but a bad vacuum booster for the brakes will normally give you a hard pedal, AND if really split will cause the engine to die rather than idle rough.
Last, but not least, do a compression test on all cylinders...none should be more than 10 psi different than the others and/or 10 psi lower than rated compression...
My car shows a P1401 code when checked for smog, what is and where can I repair, and approx cost?
Hope that helps some...
It's probably the carb. I would hold it to the floor for probably like 10 minutes.
Dorr ajar light stays on when the doors are all closed?
Performance problems that show when you have your foot on the brake usually indicate a bad vacuum brake booster. My camry is comepletly locked! Please HELP!!?
I suggest hooking up a old fashion vacuum gauge and see what the readings are, you need 16" or higher at idle and it should NOT drop when step on the brake.
You should make sure the plug wires are connected to the right cylinders and the correct places on the distributor also. If incorrect it can cause the car to backfire and shake like a tank.
