I'm having electrical problems with a Mazda 626 4 Cyl.?

Question:
I was washing this car the other day and also the engine b/c somehow an animal had died somewhere inside the hood. Thank God I found it. Needless to say the water must have done something to the electrical parts on the car. I've dried everything out (distribution cap all electrical lines etc...) and the car will start up and sound fine for about 5 seconds then it will go dead. What does this sound like?

Answers:

Dodge durango rack and pinion was replaced and the power steering is still hard to turn! Is that normal?

If the car actually has a cap and rotor then you need to replace it. once they get wet they stay wet.
