First thing that comes to mind would be a vaccum leak or possibly a bad IAC valve. If you do have a vacuum leak, normally there will also be a check engine light.Forget the choke...your car does not have one.

Sounds like a vacuum hose leak! If not, might be your throttle position sensor needs replacing.The automatic choke is sticking, tap the gas pedal and that should help. If it persists you should get it repaired or replaced.
