Question:
I have a 2000 Mazda 626. Lately I have been expeirencing problems. The last two weeks I've been driving and my check engine light will come on and then my car will stall. It won't start right away. I have to wait about three minutes to start it again. Then, I can go about 500 yards, and it will do it again. I let it sit in the yard for a week. Then it ran perfect for about a week. Then it started back up. I took it to a place and had them run a diagnostic test on it. They said their was no history of any problems. Does anybody know what is wrong with my car? Any advice would be great. Thanks everybody!

My buick keeps cutting off. Everything has been checked out. What's wrong?
sounds like your petrol tank needs to be acid bathed. you got dirt or water in your fuel! How does engine braking work and when do you need to do this?
Maybe your starterOne of the simplest reasons is a dirty fuel filter. The dirt in the filter will break free of the filter when the fuel pump is not pulling fuel through the filter. This will allow the car to start even with a dirty filter. However eventually, the dirt will be pulled into the filter and blockage will build again which chokes the fuel flow and the cause stalling. At low engine rpms, the fuel pump drawing the fuel through the filter is at it's weakest, so stalling is most likely to start as the engine is idling. As the dirt builds up, stalling and rough engine running can occur even at freeway speeds. Change the fuel filter every 30,000 miles or if you suspect that the fuel has become contaminated, you also will need to check your sparkplugs.
i need all information on my 1954 truck from v.i.n.# i have title?
Plugged fuel filter or bad fuel pumpWhat is the engine vacuum reading supposed to be on an air cooled Volkswagen?
it could be your o2 sensor. MOSTLY check engine has to do with air/fuel content or lack there of.I had a 626 (a little older than yours) the problem you mention is almost certainly the in-line fuel filter. They DO have a history of this problem, despite your service agent's protest.
They can be split and cleaned, but they cost so little it is probably better to buy a new one and fit it.
How long should a battery last ?
They move these around, the usual place is on the fuel line under the bonnet (sorry, hood) a few inches before the fuel line enters the injection system, but a couple of minute's search will find it for you. It's usually a short cylindrical plastic container and will have dirt and gunge on one side of the central mesh filter part.
Hope this helps,

I`m don`t know what I`m need to do!?
Sounds like a fuel problem, maybe pump? What's required to pass a state inspection and get an inspection sticker?
For starters, if your check engine light is coming on it is NOT your fuel filter that is the problem. Not saying it should not be replaced, but this is not causing your problem. These cars are common for crank position sensor issues. Whichever shop you brought it to has no clue, I would try a different one. Auto's place two kinds of trouble codes (check engine light) there is the one that is known as a hard code, which is a check engine light that is always on. Then there is a soft code, this light will only come on when the problem is persisting. I would try another shop, they should have a scanner that can check for history codes and soft codes. I would most likely say that it is an electrical problem, crank position, m.a.s.s, ect. Good luck!More Questions & Answers ...
