Front driveline still turning?
There are several suspects. First and cheapest to fix is the battery. A car battery can have enough power to run the lights, horn, and radio and still not have enough to start the car. Second I would check the battery cables and their connection to the battery. A loose or corroded connection to the battery can cause this, as can a pinched or damaged cable. The next thing you should check (because it may be expensive) is the starter. The starter motor may be fine but the solenoid may be bad. In a GM car the solenoid is built into the starter. If you have a PEP Boys or O'Rilley's auto parts near you, they will check the battery and starter for you for free. You must take the starter off the car first, so I would get a jump start and take it to the auto parts store and have them check the battery and if the alternator is charging the battery good enough. They can also check that the fan belt is not slipping. That would be a cause of the battery not getting enough charge. Good Luck - GaryReseting ODB2 Cycle on 2002 Impala?
Either your battery doesn't have enough juice or the starter is bad.it sound like your alternator you can take it off and get it tested at auto zone. the alternator is normallyon the right side of the car on the top of the motor by the battery.
Can My 1989 Camaro RS V6 Handle Synthetic Oil? and Is It Worth It?
You may have a loose battery connection, or your battery may need to be replaced. Get out your half inch wrench and make sure the terminals are tight. If they are and your battery is over 5 years old, replace it.First try cleaning the battery terminals and cables. Disconnect them and clean them with a wire brush. Replace any battery 5 years or older. Have your battery and charging system checked otherwise.
What does a Niehoff Ignition Fuel Pressure Regulator do? I need to know what it does.?
check fuses if not it can be your battery or your starter going outHello, With a weak battery the lights, and other electrical accessories may seem fine (the headlights will become dim first though) but the starter circuit pulls a lot of energy. The clicking you hear is typical of a car battery with just enough energy to turn on the radio, etc, but not enough to energize the solenoid and starter. Don't toss the battery just yet. Put a charger on it overnight because it will do a much quicker job of recharging a battery than the alternator can. (If a battery is totally bad the alternator won't help it anyway) Before hooking up the charger check the battery for fluid and top it off with distilled water if it is low. After you get the car started go to your local auto supply and get them to check the battery/charging system. A bad alternator will not maintain even a new battery. Hope this helps a bit.
Check your battery terminals for corrosion- clean them and replace! Make sure you get them secure! If that doesn't do the trick then either the starter is drawing too many amps and needs to be replaced or you have a direct short in the ignition circuit!
