could be any thing from a thermostat bad to water pump out or a clogged radiatorHow do you use a chamois to dry a car with the best end result?
have it towed to a garage and have a pressure test done. do not drive the car if it overheats. a pressure test will put pressure in the system and anywhere there is a leak it will cause coolant to leak out of. its a tool that technicians use. Thats what needs to be done to find where the leak is.it could be a bad radiator cap
the cap normally allows the cooling system to pressurize if the system doesn't pressurize overheating is common
the cap is cheap and easy for you to change yourself
you can get it pretty much anywhere auto parts are sold.
